Tips for Finding a Powerwash Company

Tips for Finding a Powerwash Company

Making the exterior of your home more appealing is an important step in producing a comfy environment for you and your household. Visitors will have the ability to see the exterior first thing when they come to visit – so it’s essential that its maintenance is acted on. One method is pressure washing, which can secure the outside long-term.

It does not need to be done routinely. The most important thing is that you get the best specialist for the job. There are some ideas that will come in handy during the choice process and we’re going to highlight a few of them here.

Do Not Go for the Most Inexpensive

It will be appealing to go for the cheapest contractor thinking that all pressure washing companies coincide. You get what you pay for and the exact same applies when looking for pressure washing service providers for your house. A suspiciously inexpensive company is likely to cut corners with the quality of workmanship. There might likewise be secret charges which you will only come to find out when it is too late. Before looking at the costs, you need to validate that you’re dealing with a professional company that cares about providing worth for its clients.

Shop Around

You should not pick the first company you stumble upon. Ideally, you’d want to compare the price and the service offering before making a hiring choice.

That is why you should ask for quotes from numerous companies to have a concept of what you’re dealing with. When you shop around, you can be ensured of getting the best deal. A company that will supply a blanket quote without analyzing the condition of your home must never ever be relied on. You should never need to pay for a price quote since it is part of the services that come free of charge when you engage a pressure washing company.

Certified and Insured

When searching for pressure washing near me, you are required to ensure that the company is licensed and insured. Anything could take place when the professional is operating in your home and you don’t want to be responsible in case of an injury. Despite the fact that it is not a requirement in some states for a pressure company to be certified, you still need to deal with a company that values professionalism. The company must have both liability insurance and worker’s compensation insurance.

Professional Equipment

The reason DIY pressure washing is ineffective is because of the equipment that is made use of. Efficient cleaning requires professional-grade equipment. Do not be afraid to ask about the work process as it is within your right to know as a house owner. A business that uses second-rate equipment is most likely to do a shoddy job and you do not want to discover the hard way. A company that has actually been operational for a while will have purchased equipment as that becomes part of the job.

Experience

Experience is an important consideration when working with any other contractor and a pressure washing company. It is very important to look at their experience by asking how many years they have actually been in business. The more the years, the more the experience. You’ll feel a lot more guaranteed partnering with a company that has been operational for 10 years compared to one that is just beginning.

References

The recommendations will likewise point you on the best path when searching for a power washing business. A good company should not find it bothersome when you request recommendations. Make certain to call a couple of former clients and ask them about their experience handling the business. A company that is hesitant about supplying recommendations or does not have any at all will be concealing something.

Evaluations

The internet has actually made it easy to research companies. You’re able to search for grievances and compliments the business has been getting. You must beware when a company has a lot of complaints. There might be something seriously wrong with the client service. You can check out websites like Yelp and Better Business Bureau as they’re hard to manipulate.

Conclusion

It is not every day that you will look for pressure washing services. That is why it is essential that you’re doing thorough research so that you’re able to get the right company for the job. Do not take a look at the cost alone as that will not tell the whole story. Reach out to multiple specialists before deciding.

Pressure washing vs Soft-washing!

Spring is right around the corner and you have a list a mile long of what needs to get done. Once those temperatures rise it’s time to emerge from our winter hibernation and we get the first glimpse of the sunshine filled outside world. Unfortunately, the first thing we see may not be all that pleasing to the eye. We begin to see the ugly emergence of that all too familiar friend, MOLD. Mold on our siding, mold on our brick, mold just about everywhere. During the winter months, the cold weather doesn’t kill mold spores. They survive just as other plants do, hiding in the pores of your exterior surfaces, and as the weather warms they go into growth mode. Taking in all the fresh moisture they can grow, making our homes an ugly green rather than a fresh clean. So now it’s time to have your home cleaned and you need to decide if you are going to do it yourself or hire a professional. Most homeowners think homes can be pressure washed and that’s all they need. This idea is outdated and has been given to them by home improvement stores, painters, general contractors and even some window cleaning companies. So they rent a pressure washer, use their own or hire one of these general guys with a power washer to clean their siding or roof.   This is where the trouble starts… What you won’t see is what’s actually happening. First, yes the mold is being pushed off the surface, but only the surface mold. The source of the mold, where it actually grows from, is still deep in the pores of the surface. More than likely your surface now has damage from the pressure which only provides the mold spores more areas to hide in. Next year, or even later the same year prepare for even more mold to show up! Vinyl siding and even aluminum siding was never meant to be pressure washed. Vinyl siding has a clear coat cover the outer most layer consisting of protective materials including a UV protective coating which prevents your siding from fading in the sun. Over time this outer coating oxidizes and begins to look cloudy. This can be seen very commonly near water spigots on the side of the home where you might lean against the siding, leaving an absence of oxidation where your fingers may have rubbed it off. High pressure used on these surfaces can pre-maturely remove these coatings causing damage, early sun damage, degradation and even in some cases voiding a warranty. A leading high-end siding manufacturer, CertainTeed, warns consumers away from pressure washing siding “NOTE:  We do not recommend power washing vinyl or polymer siding as it can cause moisture intrusion, damage, and/or discoloration.” and instead recommend using the SOFT WASH method. When using hard pressure this oxidation can be easily removed leaving visible streaks that actually make your home look cleaner but in reality, it removed all of your UV protective coatings, exposing your home to the damaging effects of the sun. Once this oxidation is removed by an untrained professional or homeowner, it will be streaky and very unsightly. The only cleaning option at this point is a full chemical restoration and unfortunately, this can be very expensive.
This is why we recommend not remove this oxidation in the first place. DON’T USE PRESSURE!
SOFT WASHING is the new industry standard. Quite simply it’s washing a surface, vinyl, aluminum, soft stone, even brick with a gentle rinse. Using chemicals, specially designed to kill the mold spores and used in a manner that is safe for your existing landscaping, pets, and the environment. This gentle rinse washes the dead mold away leaving your surface completely clean all the way into the pores. You may ask why companies like Powergreen Pressure Washing use pressure washers if they use the SOFT WASH method. Pressure is still used on concrete combines with heat and chemicals to clean years of mold and abuse on most hard surfaces. We then use special pumps designed for distance and volume rather than pressure to clean your vertical soft surfaces, chemically injecting our solution to the hardest to reach places. Soft bristle brushes can also be used to remove the most stubborn old stains and growth. No other method is recommended for cleaning siding and if another contractor or professional tells you otherwise, be cautious as they most likely don’t have your best interest in mind.
Pressure should ONLY be used on hard surfaces such as concrete, hard stone, and some brick. Surfaces such as vinyl, aluminum, stucco, soft stone, and wood should ONLY be treated with a “soft-wash”
